Checking a Georgian company — registry, debts, courts
Before you do business with a Georgian company, buy property or pay an advance, check who stands behind it and what risks it carries. In Georgia, much of this information is public. We check the company in every source and give you a clear report — in English, Russian or Georgian.

Business registry data is public (Law on Entrepreneurs, Article 13): it shows the partners, director and representatives, legal form, status and change history, and the extract also covers tax liens and mortgages, public-law restrictions, pledges over movable property and debtors-register information.
Georgia has no public register of beneficial owners — the registry shows legal owners only. Companies with complex structures therefore need further checks.

Questions & answers
Is information on Georgian companies public?
Yes. Business registry data and copies of registration documents are public; an official extract is issued for a fee.
Can I find out who really owns a company?
The registry shows legal owners. Georgia has no public beneficial-ownership register, so complex structures need further checks.
How long does a check take?
A basic check usually takes a few working days; full due diligence depends on the size of the company.
