# Criminal record certificate in Georgia — fee, apostille

Georgian criminal record certificates (police clearance) are issued by the Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. You may need one for a job, a visa or abroad. We help obtain it, apostille it and — if it shows a conviction — have the record expunged or removed.

- Confidential

- Georgian · English · Russian

- Free first consultation

- Courts of all instances

The certificate shows information on convictions and on whether the person is wanted (MIA Order No. 892, Article 15). It is issued to the person, to someone else with their written consent, or to a representative with a power of attorney. You can order it online on the Service Agency's website or app, or at any Agency branch.
The fee is GEL 20 and it takes 3 working days; in 1 day it costs GEL 40. An apostille costs GEL 20 (5 working days) or GEL 50 in 1 day; translation is GEL 20 per page. A separate certificate on expunged or removed convictions costs GEL 30.

## Good to know

- The certificate is valid for 15 calendar days — order it when you actually need it

- For use abroad, it usually needs an apostille and a translation

- If you are abroad, a representative can collect it with a power of attorney

- If it shows a conviction, we check whether it has expired and whether it can be removed early

## For foreigners

The general residence permit rules (Government Resolution No. 520) don't require a criminal record certificate from your home country — the Agency checks the information itself. A permit can be refused if you are wanted or have a conviction in Georgia. If you lived in Georgia, you can get a Georgian certificate — for example, for a visa or a job in another country.
